Reduce strain by improving how work is planned.

Manual handling injuries are rarely solved by lifting technique alone. Effective training considers the task, the load, the environment, individual capability and the availability of mechanical assistance. We teach delegates how to assess the situation before moving an item and how to use safer methods in practice.

Where appropriate, sessions can incorporate the actual loads, equipment and working areas used by your team.

Course content

Injury and risk factorsUnderstanding common causes of musculoskeletal harm.
Dynamic assessmentChecking the task before and during the move.
Safer techniqueStable posture, controlled movement and team handling.

Task-specific delivery

For higher-risk or repetitive activities, we can focus training on the work itself. This may include observation, discussion of constraints and practical coaching using representative loads. The aim is to establish methods that are both safer and operationally realistic.
